POSITION OVERVIEW The Project Coordinator will perform an integral role within the day-to-day scheduling, task coordination, reporting, escalation, and triage activities related to OSP construction and related activities.
The project coordinator will serve as a key supporting element to our construction and maintenance activities with our prime customers. This is a hands-on coordinator role, working alongside existing Lightspeed construction management, and program management office.
Responsibilities: Assist in the development of workforce schedules, project production reporting employing typical project management process/methodologies such as resource allocation, Gannt charts/Kanban, and RAID logs.Coordinate with in-house and contingent resources on day-to-day assignments, resource deconfliction and triage activities.Work with the program management office to develop daily, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting metrics.Assist in the development contingency plans for workforce shortages or similar critical project challenges.Exceptional inter-personal and communication skills. (Both written and spoken) The ideal candidate will possess the ability to communicate effectively across functional areas and throughout all levels in the organization, including customer staff. The candidate will be well organized, and detail oriented throughout all activities.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience as a dedicated project manager/coordinator in a telecommunications/cable/MSO environment.Prior experience in outside plant construction, permitting, and/or network engineering.Prior experience/knowledge in PMBOK methodology and processes.PgMP, PMP, Prince2 or similar certification is a plus, though not required.Ability to operate effectively across matrix organizations.Strong initiative, comfortable with ambiguity and willingness to move outside of one's comfort zone.Minimum of 3 years of experience in role, with Telecom/Cable/MSO or similar industry environment.Above average skill level with MS Office suite of tools to such as, excel, word, MS project and MS Teams.Prior experience with MS Project or other project management/efficiency tools such as JIRA, Confluence or similar is a plus. A heavy reliance upon industry partners and contingent resources is a key aspect of this role. The role will be predominately office based with opportunities for hybrid work schedules.
EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
