Job Description AECOM is seeking a creative and highly talented Project Controls Analyst for immediate employment based in our San Diego or Orange, California offices. This is an entry-level position.
This position is expected to begin in April 2024. The Project Controls Analyst will support our Environment Business Line. The position requires strong interpersonal communication skills with a hospitality mindset, as this role requires hotel-concierge-level customer-oriented support services. Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
Assisting the Project Manager and Senior Project Controller in: Maintaining the AECOM project financial system (uploading change orders, opening and closing projects, and compiling monthly EAC). Assisting in the development of project WBS. Setting up and administering project cost control, including monitoring, collecting, and analyzing actual costs, commitments, and accruals. Identify cost trends and report analysis to project management and clients and maintain project key performance indicators. Develop reports to clients, including but not limited to progress and financial reports. Developing and maintaining project variance and earned value reporting and highlighting exceptions to the project manager. Evaluate task progress against project schedule and budget. Evaluate project performance and identify areas of concern. Compiling monthly invoices and following up with client AP for approval and payment. Assisting the Project Manager with developing Estimates to Complete costs and revenues. Assist in the identification of change conditions and the development of Change Order request documents and estimates. Manage subcontractor's involvement in the projects. Coordinate contracts, budgets, commitments, expenditures, invoices, and performance. Performing ad-hoc analysis as required by the Project Manager. Develop and maintain project schedules. General project coordination, logistics, and administration. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree. Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.  As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review. Preferred Qualifications Completion of Project Management-related courses. Basic knowledge of project management processes. Basic knowledge of finance and accounting. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with a good understanding of Excel functions. Hospitality mindset (customer service experience is a plus). Active listener. Effective communication skills (both verbal and written). Reliable team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. Strong critical thinking skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Strong problem solver. Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet strict deadlines. Additional Information Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not available for this position. Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire. This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in San Diego or Orange, California . The selected candidate must be available to work in San Diego or Orange, California on a scheduled basis. Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications , experience, and work location.
