Job Summary: We are seeking a Program Coordinator to manage our office, support programming logistics, supervise and mentor student staff and develop systems to support expanding programming. This position develops and maintains strong professional relationships and works collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Performs administrative duties in support of staff, student leaders, and visitors. This position will supervise a variety of student employee positions. This position will serve as lead instructor/facilitator on some field programming as fits their skill set and previous experience. May greet visitors and provide first point of contact, creating an inclusive and welcoming experience. Outdoor Programs (Gonzaga Outdoors and Immersive Outdoor Learning) at Gonzaga are growing co-curricular programs that focus on getting students in the outdoors in and around the Inland Northwest to create friendships, provide technical outdoor skills, develop leaders, and instill a sense of respect and awe for the outdoors. This position is primarily administrative with some opportunities for field time.
Minimum Qualifications: BA + one (1) year of related experience or five (5) years of related experience if substituting experience for education requirement. Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population. Candidates must be computer-literate. Be able to work with social media applications and information management; and use of a range of Microsoft Office products. This position requires excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience leading outdoor trips in a formal role. Previous successful work experience that includes a minimum of one (1) year of full-time or part-time equivalent experience in an outdoor recreation, outdoor recreation office management or equivalent.
