We have an opportunity for a remote Program Coordinator (Remote) on our Center for Health Equity team. As a Program Coordinator, you will be responsible supporting the Program Manager of Embedding Equity (Learning and Development) and the Embedding Equity team. Support capacity building activities, including convening, learning, and action planning, to drive and support the American Medical Association (AMA) in embedding health and racial equity throughout the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Program Support Supporting the Program Manager, coordinate (1) capacity-building activities for business unit (BU) equity action teams (~20 teams), including convening, learning, and action planning via the Health Equity Workgroup (HEW), as well as (2) learning for senior leadership[WJ1] . Support the monitoring and reporting of workgroup benchmarks and progress on equity action planning and implementation. Collaborate with the Center and Human Resources, to support capacity-building efforts with equity action teams. Follow a defined process for project management which includes project plans, assembling of project teams, and task coordination. Deliver project tasks on time, with high quality, and ensure that deliverables/milestones are met, with adherence to the budget. Identify barriers to a project's execution and potential solutions. Coordinate activities with other teams, internal and external collaborators, as applicable. Support Program Manager with external consultants and vendors providing health and racial equity consultation to AMA staff, including recurring check-ins with vendors, monitoring deliverables, and supporting evaluation efforts of vendor workshops and vendor performance. Complete project/program components/tasks using a health and racial equity lens and trauma-informed approaches. Support and engagement Assist with coordinating and executing support and engagement activities regarding health and racial equity for AMA business units on various topics as they arise in business units. Administrative Support Coordinate convenings with BU equity action teams, the Health Equity Workgroup, and senior leadership. Support the preparation of convening agendas, invitations, slide decks, and other materials. Follow the defined process for capacity-building activities at in-person and virtual meetings. Regularly take notes and capture next steps during assigned capacity-building meetings, compiling follow-up communications for attendees. Coordinate document and data storage, meeting attendance and evaluation completion tracking, and status updates in project management files or systems. May include other responsibilities as assigned REQUIREMENTS: 1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent applicable work experience required.
2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience coordinating projects including longitudinal group engagements (e.g., convening, learning) required; community or labor organizing experience preferred.
3. Demonstrated organizational skills and proven track record of coordinating multiple projects in a fast-paced collaborative environment; knowledge of project management software preferred.
4. Demonstrated experience coordinating document and data storage; Strong writing and communications skills required, including generating correspondence, reports, and slide presentations.
5. Professional experience engaging with disability communities, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or intersections of these identities required.
6. Demonstrated knowledge in health and racial equity, trauma-informed approaches, inclusive interpersonal skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from different disciplines and backgrounds, contributing as a team member, self-motivated and a strong individual contributor.
8. Some travel may be required.
The pay range for this position in Chicago IL, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, Wisconsin, or Washington D.C. is 54k-$73k. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location and business or organizational needs.
