About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for helping patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or other physical impairments. As a Physical Therapist at [Company Name], you will play a critical role in assessing, planning, and delivering personalized rehabilitation programs to maximize the functional independence and well-being of our patients. Key Responsibilities include:
Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical conditions, medical histories, and treatment goals to develop individualized treatment plans. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to address patients' specific needs, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, modalities, and patient education. Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, modifying goals and interventions as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management techniques to promote long-term health and wellness. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including progress notes, evaluations, and treatment plans, in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Equipment and Facility Management: Maintain and utilize therapeutic equipment and facilities effectively, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during treatment sessions. Continuing Education: Stay updated on the latest advancements in physical therapy through ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with education and experience. Hiring compensation ranges from $32.50 - $45.00 / hour. This position is benefits eligible after a 60-day waiting period.
Minimum Education Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree from University with an APTA accredited curriculum in Physical Therapy Experience Satisfactory completion of student affiliations before graduation One-year experience preferred Required Registration/License/Certification Licensed or eligible for licensure in North Carolina Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required at the time of hire Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with the public, patients, family, staff, and physician and acts within the chain of command, utilizing positive verbal and non-verbal skills Competent in delivering safe and effective patient care within legal limits of license and certifications and hospital policies and procedures Knowledge of the continuum of care provided in the department Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service to patients, family, staff, and physicians Physical Demands Continuous standing and walking long periods = to or greater than > 8 hours per shift Speaking, reading, and writing, expanded > 8 hours per day Exposed to vibration and cramped spaces > 1-hour day Frequently mobilizes patients > 4 hours per day Frequently per shift: lifts, carries, pushes, and/or pulls > 50 lbs. Frequently per hour: bends, squats, kneels, twists, turns and reaches Frequently per minute: hand, finger, and wrist repetition and moderate dexterity Frequently per hour: exposed to soft voices > 3 feet away Frequently per hour: exposed to close eye work Infrequently per shift: may be exposed to Ionizing/nonionizing radiation exposure, including x-ray and microwave Working Conditions Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment Exposed to unpleasant elements (accident, injury, slippery surfaces, uneven surfaces), etc. Handles emergency or crises Subject to irregular hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) About Appalachian Regional Healthcare System
