Patient Account Specialist

We are currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Account Specialist to join our team remotely. This is a full-time position where you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working from the comfort of your home.
Job Overview:
As a Patient Account Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients with payment options, insurance setup, and paperwork related to hospital and clinic services. Your responsibilities will include establishing payment arrangements, resolving patient concerns, and ensuring timely follow-up to maintain a healthy cash flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Screen patients and process Financial Assistance Applications according to established policies.
Communicate with patients via various channels to address inquiries and obtain required documents.
Assist patients with outreach program applications and maintain necessary certifications.
Collaborate with insurance companies, government agencies, and other parties to secure appropriate payments.
Maintain accurate records, perform data entry, and assist customers with account-related questions.
Requirements:
College coursework in relevant fields preferred (e.g., accounting, business, medical terminology).
Minimum of one year experience in collections, customer service, or a related medical field preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and alphanumeric data entry skills required.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
