AVENU is looking for a Production Support Microservices Engineer to support the Avenu platform (a Bank as a Service (BaaS) platform). We need a dynamic Microservices Engineer to partner with our platform development, technical support, and cyber security teams to support internal platform sub-systems and infrastructure.

This is a Hybrid Position based in our Sterling, VA office

Role:
The Microservices Engineer will work as a Tier 3 production support engineer that directly impacts our clients and their customers. You will work closely with your Implementation , Platform development and Quality Assurance team members..

Qualifications
4+ years of Software Development work experience using Java
3+ years of experience in REST API, Microservices development
2+ years of working experience in Kafka event driven framework (Consumption, publishing and streaming) , Kafka APIs, KsqlDB, Avro
Google Cloud Platform or AWS cloud experience
Experience supporting Cloud/SaaS software products and APIs is highly desirable
Degree, certification in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field

Responsibilities:
Support, develop, modify, debug and/or maintain software code according to functional, non-functional and technical design specifications
Support Production deployments and hot fixes
Perform problem identification, root cause analysis. Identify short/ long term defect resolutions.
Daily monitoring of services health checks and building monitors
Security Vulnerability remediation
Analysis repeat incident patterns and identifying permanent fixes
Availability and performance management
Support Upgrades & Patching of the services
Periodic maintenance activities

Requirements

Requirements:
This can be a remote / hybrid position, requires travel to our Sterling and Fairfax, Virginia offices
4+ years of Microservices development experience
Perform troubleshooting steps to identify root cause of production problems
2+ years of working with payment systems
Experience with cloud technologies(GCP, AWS)
Experience supporting Cloud/SaaS software products and APIs is highly coveted
Technical proficiency with Java is a must
Prior working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, GitHub
Familiarity with working in an Agile environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Dedicated to champion the customer problem until resolution
Excellent time management skills and a strong sense of urgency
