Responsibilities
• Ensure efficient and high-quality production of passenger railcar components• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and implement engineering solutions• Optimize manufacturing processes for carshell structure fabrication• Assess the manufacturability of the product• Design fixtures and tooling for fabrication processes• Create custom fixtures to optimize welding and assembly processes• Evaluate and select appropriate materials for fixtures and tooling• Implement quality control procedures• Address manufacturing-related issues affecting product quality• Investigate and analyze design issues and implement resolutions• Drive continuous improvement initiatives• Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field• Previous experience in roles such as Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer• Familiarity with quality control methodologies and continuous improvement techniques• Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and manufacturing processes• Experience in fixture and tooling design• Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks)• Rolling stock manufacturing experience is a plus• Knowledge of welding processes and familiarity with AWS welding codes and standards is a plus
