Made Possible.This is a skilled trade position responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining, repairing, and installing all machinery in the plant. In addition, general and building maintenance is assigned to this Mechanic position.Areas of responsibility may include:WeldingHydraulicsPneumaticsBasic electrical circuitsBasic electrical installationBasic prints, e.g., assembly drawings, parts drawingsPower transmissionBearingsBasic machine shop workThread pipeRequired SkillsLook up parts and work with OEMsRead mechanical and electrical schematicsUse the computer to process work notifications (SAP)Qualify to operate a forklift, aerial boom lift and scissor liftWork on platforms approximately 15 feet above the ground levelParticipate in technical training on or off siteStrong electrical engineering backgroundPhysical DemandsLifting up to 20 lbs. frequently (11-33% of the time) and lifting 21-60 lbs. occasionally (1-10% of the time)Requires use of both feet frequentlyRequires use of both hands for simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation and repetitive actions continuouslyRequires right and left hand coordinationAbility to stand, climb, walk, kneel and crouch frequently (34-66% of the time)Ability to bend, squat, reach above shoulder and at waist or lower, twist, stretch, push/pull with force up to 45 lbs., carry, grasp with force up to 90 lbs. and finger occasionally (1-33% of the time)Ability to read, write, hear, see, speak and have agility on a continuous basisRarely laying on back to complete preventative and breakdown maintenance to perform mechanical and electrical services to ensure plant operationsPushing (occasionally) horizontal at a self-selected height with a force of 35 lbs. indoors on a smooth and inclined surface to complete fabrication of requested items to perform mechanical and electrical services to ensure plant operationsReading computer screen or other electronic devicesUse of various hand and electrical tools and equipmentWork in areas of fluctuating temperature and loud noisesPPE required: Steel-toed/safety footwear, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Cut resistant Safety Gloves, Hair Net, Beard NetRequired ExperienceAssociates degree in Engineering Technology, Automated Systems, Electronics Technician or equivalentKnowledge of and ability to test, troubleshoot and service all types of electrical equipment including AC and DC drives, PLC's and their associated control networks and I/OExperience testing, maintaining, and calibrating electrical equipment using sound troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skillsAbility to work any shift (including nights & weekends, up to 12-hour shifts)Ability to work overtime as assignedStrong organizational and communication skills2 years of work experience in an electrical / mechanical maintenance setting
