Machinist Intern

P1 Industries (P1) is a capability driven manufacturing company that helps global OEMs (such as GE, Siemens and others) design and deliver engineered products that power, protect and propel our world. Our team is expanding and we're looking for people to bring into our Pathways training program. If you have an interest in machining and fabrication, but little to no formal education or training, we'd love to talk to you. Our training program enables new machinists to learn from experienced machinists in a practical, hands-on way. As a young, entrepreneurial business, our working environment has no limitations and allows you to set your course.
The P1 Pathways Program is facilitating a machining internship this summer that will help you discover a new potential career. Interns will work 20 hours/week alongside our production teams to understand the big picture of a machine shop, while receiving training for specific skills needed to be a machinist. If at the end of the program it seems like a fit for both you and our team, we will bring you on full time and pay for your manufacturing degree from HVCC. You might succeed in this role if you have:
Mechanical dexterity (may currently be applied in a different setting, such as automobiles or woodworking)
Problem solving skills
Ability to do math
Attention to detail
Desire and passion to learn and grow
Hustle mentality
Interest in how things work in cars, turbines, motors, etc.
Salary info: $16 - $20 / hr
