As a cyber security administrator, you will be responsible for developing and guiding strategic cyber security programs leveraging 3rd party partners and vendors. You will direct and coordinate the implementation and be responsible for ensuring the on-going effectiveness of multiple security functions. Day to day duties will also include ongoing monitoring, alerting, remediation, and escalation of security events by the Security Operations Center (SOC); Investigating and remediating email transportation and/or phishing events; and reporting on trends, effectiveness of security controls and programs, and refinement of operational response playbooks.
Job Responsibilities: Supports the development, implementation, and communication of projects related to cybersecurity activities and programs. Leads the set-up and execution of cybersecurity program events, briefings, and vendor meetings. Risk Assessments: Conduct risk assessments and security audits/surveys to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats. Policy and Procedure Development: Create and maintain security policies, protocols, and procedures in accordance with industry best practices. Emergency preparedness Management: Develop and implement protocols for responding to security incidents, emergencies, and crises. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations on security incidents, risk assessments, and security program effectiveness. Respond to audit requests. Own the scoping and execution of our penetration testing that is performed by a third party. Develop and own key performance indicators and metrics associated with our security posture. Assist in developing and enforcing security policies. Managing the incident repose process for incidents and participating, as a team member, in major incidents. Conduct initial triage of cyber-security alerts. Perform phishing triage, determining whether emails are safe or malicious. Develop, perform, and generate reporting for phishing campaigns Be available for afterhours support for both on-call and critical cyber security incidents Stay up to date with the latest information security trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement of the organization's security posture Develop and implement emergency response and crisis management plans. Job Requirements: Working knowledge/experience with network systems, security principles and applications Able to communicate technical issues to non-technical people Strong analysis and critical thinking skills 5+ years Networking/Infrastructure Support/Troubleshooting: Networking design skills Cloud Computing skills Basic knowledge of operating systems Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Good understanding of network protocols (for example: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc. Ability to respond to Cyber Security alerts and incidents during off hours is required. Three years or more of professional experience or job-related experience in Information Security, or Information Technology Competencies: Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills. Excellent software diagnostic and analytical skills while focusing on details and accuracy. Strong, proactive focus on customers and their needs. Ability to apply good judgment while making decisions independently or with minimal supervision.
