Job Summary Our architecture and interiors group is searching for talented individuals to lead the design of unique federal facilities around the world. We work in a collaborative environment to understand each unique design challenge in order to provide the best possible solution. This position requires leading and contributing in all aspects of medium to complex interior designs. Projects begin with understanding multiple government requirements, the client's budget and the user's needs. Projects may include participating in the charrette process. Project execution will involve working with a multi-discipline design team in the development of construction documents and supervising construction phase services. Interior design shall provide design solutions that are functional, enhance the quality of life and culture of the occupants, and are aesthetically attractive. Responsibilities include space arrangement and layout, selection of finishes, selection of furnishings, and production of drawings, renderings, specifications and color boards.
Key Responsibilities Interacts and coordinates with the Lead Architect and other discipline leads. Establishing and maintain effective client relationships, anticipating and providing services that exceed client expectations Anticipating and adopting innovations in business digital and technology applications, cultivating innovations Assist in marketing and business development related efforts related to existing and new federal clients ? Monitors and ensures compliance with project requirements and building codes? Understands and adheres to budget, schedule, and quality requirements Providing sustainable design solutions and supporting sustainability in the work environment Presents concepts and finished design to clients/owners. May lead a small production team. Maintains records and documentation. Checks shop drawings and installation drawings. Preferred Qualifications Excellent design, visualization and graphic skills? Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting to clients? Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Suite (in particular InDesign and Enscape), Excel and Bluebeam Excellent interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships? Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve design issues? Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously? Ability to provide effective supervision and staff management? Experience with Structural Interior Design (SID) and Comprehensive Interior Design (CID) packages. Up to date knowledge on trends in office environments Knowledge of Building Codes and Government Compliance Regulations Familiarity with manufacturers of interior finish materials and furniture. Familiarity with GSA schedules and policies for Government work. Ability to provide creative and technical solutions meeting owner's needs. Active in Federal and/or commercial interiors organizations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited university (Bachelor of Arts in Interiors or similar 4 or 5 year program). Minimum 1 year of experience in the field of Commercial Interior Design.
