DPP is seeking an Information Systems Architect for an opportunity in Columbia, SC. Work arrangement: Partially Onsite, 50% remote W2 position; 1 month with a possibiliy of extension Project scope: Serve as a technical thought leader and SME for the public cloud ecosystem. Plan, analyze, design, test, and deploy enhancements to the client s Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud and PaaS solutions. Provide knowledge transfer to team members. Work directly with technical teams, customers, vendors, and executive leadership to determine Cloud requirements, analyze business impact, ROI, and sustainability. Ensure Cloud architecture meets the service delivery needs of the client. Ensure proper integration of security standards for all Cloud systems. Position description: Provide assistance with supporting deployment and management of a client-wide Information Technology Shared Services Cloud initiative and project. The Information Systems Architect will be used to further develop the state's cloud smart strategy and work with state agencies for adoption. Responsibilities and duties: Analyze existing infrastructure, strategic challenges, services, customers, and skill sets to make informed decisions on cloud infrastructure and strategy. Work with teams to implement an IT governance model that guides the expansion of client s Cloud architecture and services. Document the architecture and socializes architectural standards and capabilities with key stakeholders. Perform system administration, automation, and development tasks for the Cloud Management Platform (CMP). Work with client s team and customer personnel to facilitate migrations to the Cloud infrastructure. Maintain continuity of shared services offered across AWS and Azure. Lead, train and develop internal staff. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Cloud platforms / environments Installing Datacenter and Cloud Infrastructure Azure Cloud and Virtualization Public Cloud infrastructure expertise: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Terraform. Ability to integrate Cloud/ DevOps platforms with third party tools. Experience with AWS Governance and Best Practices (IAM, Organizations, Networking Architectures, Cost Mgmt controls, etc.). Experience of Azure Governance and Best Practices (RBAC, Azure AD, Networking Architectures, Cost Mgmt controls, etc.). Advanced knowledge of automation tools, including configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef) and infrastructure provisioning (AWS CloudFormation, ARM Templates, or Terraform) Proficient in scripting languages (PowerShell / CLI). Preferred KSAs: Expertise in Terraform infrastructure as code, understanding of scaling technologies and solutions, experience with AWS or other clouds, familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container platforms, security, penetration testing and threat detection tools, and experience wServiceNow, Datadog, Dome9, and/or Aviatrix. Background in DevOps, Software Development, Site Reliability, or Systems Engineering. Experience with configuration management and continuous deployment. Experience with Linux and Windows system administration. Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure solutions, including enterprise directories, on-premises hosting platforms (vSphere/Hyper-V), and datacenter storage and networking. Required education/equivalencies: Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems AND 8+ years of technical architecture experience and relevant hands-on engineering. Interested?
