Job Description:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a General Academic Teacher. The successful candidate will play a vital role in educating individuals preparing to embark on their aviation journey. You will collaborate directly with the Director of Academic Affairs and the Chief Flight Instructor.
Responsibilities:
Deliver live virtual educational instruction using provided instructor manuals.
Ensure students make weekly progress with coursework and assignments.
Maintain organized and up-to-date files, documentation, and student grades.
Facilitate end-of-term exams.
Adhere to provided instructor manuals and materials.
Schedule:
Educators have the flexibility to create their own schedule to accommodate student needs.
Classes consist of 8 weeks of instruction, followed by 1 week of exams, totaling a 9-week semester.
Classes are conducted through Teams, twice a week, with each class lasting 2.5 hours.
Summer term begins on July 8; Fall term begins on October 7.
Qualifications:
Teaching certification.
Masters or Bachelors degree in the subject matter discipline and demonstrated professional development in the field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in managing student records.
Experience teaching in one of the following disciplines: Communication, Business, Psychology, English, Physics, or IT.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with aviation terminology and procedures.
Experience with student management systems or databases.
Passion for aviation and a desire to contribute to the growth of future aviators.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 - 20 per week
