As a GAAP Accountant for WisDOT, you will be responsible for preparing GAAP-based financial statements, note disclosures and supplementary information for inclusion in the Annual Comprehensive Fiscal Report (ACFR), Annual Fiscal Report, and Fund Condition Report. You will also manage the General Obligation Bond and Transportation Revenue Bond Programs. You will work closely with auditors from the Legislative Audit Bureau (LAB) to review ACFR entries and support, provide information, and explain financial methodology and business processes. Additionally, you'll monitor the General Ledger module to ensure all expenditure and revenue data is accurate and timely. It is critical that you have a strong skillset and significant knowledge of GAAP accounting, Query Manager, and advanced Excel/Access are essential skills in this position. You will regularly collaborate with management accountants within the Bureau, budget analysts in other bureaus, as well as accountants from other agencies.
This position is in schedule-range (07-02) with an annual salary of $70,720 - $89,440 (or $34 - $43 per hour), plus excellent benefits . A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.
