Meriwether Lewis Connect, a fast- growing fiber broadband company and wholly owned subsidiary of Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative, is seeking highly motivated individuals to fill the following position based in our Centerville office.
Fiber Splicer I Responsibilities include assisting with cable installation, construction, maintenance and repair. Also assists in validating and testing end-to-end service provisioning for the fiber network; assisting in cable terminations on patch panes, hubs and routers; and troubleshooting damaged fiber and installing newly designed circuits.
The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of fiber industry standards and accessing, reading and interpreting fiber GIS mapping systems and design software. Must have working knowledge of computer applications such as spreadsheets, database and word processing; fiber splicing tools and software.
Vocational school training or apprenticeship preferred. A valid driver's license and a high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one year experience in the fiber optic industry is needed. Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the MLEC Service Area.
