Job Description:Summary:Barr is seeking an environmental data management technician to join its Minneapolis office. The person in this position will work primarily in the environmental database EQuIS, with a heavy emphasis in Microsoft Excel. Assigned work tasks may include entering data into the EQuIS database; manually checking data thoroughly against original documents; entering geologic data and producing boring logs; producing charts and reports; performing advanced formulas and functions in Microsoft Excel; following processes set by data management department; and discussing data and projects with other data management staff and project teams.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, preferably in environmental studies/sciences, geology, chemistry, biology, or a related field3+ years professional experience working with databases and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with charts, macros, pivot tables and other functionsKnowledge and experience with EQuISMinimum GPA of 3.0/4.0Exceptional deductive reasoning skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and completenessStrong mathematical and scientific skillsStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsCapacity to thrive in a fast-paced environmentA flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needsLegal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship, now or in the futurePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge and experience with the following applications: Access and gINTKnowledge of chemistry and/or geologyKnowledge of state and federal environmental regulationsA hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position.
