Electronic Health Records Technician, Health Information Management

Job Overview:
As a Health Records Technician, you'll play a crucial role in managing patient documentation, ensuring accuracy, and facilitating efficient communication within our network of hospitals. This remote position offers an opportunity to contribute to the healthcare industry from the comfort of your home.
Responsibilities:
Utilize the Vocera hospital communication system to announce codes and pages across our network of hospitals.
Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate departments or individuals.
Manage health-related information, both in paper and electronic formats, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Provide customer support, guiding patients through the MyChart app/website for seamless access to their medical records.
Coordinate the retrieval and processing of medical records through our digital record system, Epic.
Assist patients in connecting to their virtual appointments via Zoom and troubleshoot any technical issues.
Handle requests for medical records from external healthcare entities via phone, Epic, mail, or fax.
Qualifications:
No prior experience necessary; comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
Passion for patient care and community wellness.
Desired qualifications include:
One year of experience in Health Information Management (HIM).
High School Diploma or GED.
Associate Degree or relevant certification such as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
