Electrical Estimator Location: Durham, NC Company Overview: Our client, a thriving Electrical Construction company located in Durham, NC, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's growth and success in the commercial construction industry.
Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on electrical experience in commercial construction. Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word. Previous experience with estimating software. Ability to interpret plans and technical documents. Strong multitasking skills, with the capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication skills for timely interactions with clients and suppliers. In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes. Responsibilities: As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for a range of estimating tasks and support activities:
Complete all aspects of electrical estimating, including the creation of Bills of Materials (BOMs), performing takeoffs, entering takeoff data, submitting Requests for Information (RFIs), and preparing proposals. Construct comprehensive estimates from start to finish, ensuring that all project requirements outlined in plans and specifications are considered in our bids. Collaborate with the senior estimator to streamline and coordinate the bidding process for each project. Assist in contract negotiations and review processes. Review the estimate with sales personnel and project managers once a contract is awarded. Participate in the development of budgets and schedule of values once a project is secured.
