Responsibilities • Assists with other Bureau activities, as requested by The Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS) leadership.
• Provides support to the Bureau and project staff in developing effective publications related to exceptional student education and other special programs.
• Participates in legal discussions related to investigations within the Dispute Resolution and Monitoring section.
• Participates in discussions with the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) Legal team regarding the investigation reports.
• Provides legal review of investigative reports, technical assistance papers, policy and procedures, and other documents.
• Review documents related to the creation and amendment of rules and statutes.
• Reviews special projects, as requested by FLDOE leadership.
Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Preferred Qualifications A degree in Education Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to write and/or proofread and edit written word and/or information in various formats. Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or equivalent software.
