Job Description:
The Controller is responsible for the financial reporting and oversight of a public real estate equity fund supervising the Assistant Controller and other accounting resources.
You Will Be Responsible For: Reviewing the Quarterly and Annual Reports on Form 10-Q/K and oversee the internal and external review for these documentsOverseeing the SEC calendar for financial close and 10-Q/K reportingMonitoring and ensuring timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidanceOverseeing communications with external auditors regarding financial reporting and accounting matters to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions and accounting disclosuresReviewing quarterly and annual GAAP compliance checklistLiaising with Invesco's legal team on relevant SEC filings required and related logisticsOverseeing the Assistant Controller and Senior Accountants, performing higher level risk-based review on a monthly basis prior to final review performed by CFOOverseeing expectations, assignments, and deliverables with outside third-party administrator and transfer agentOverseeing the build-out and ongoing maintenance of SOX Controls and related proceduresMaintaining an excellent working relationship with the portfolio and investment management teams, legal, compliance, as well as with other business disciplinesProactively adding value through new ideas and processes in order to produce optimum operational efficiency and reduced costsOverseeing the transition of certain responsibilities to our Hyderabad, India Private Markets Accounting team. Hold direct reports accountable for continuing to identify tasks/train and gain efficiencies from Hyderabad personnelOverseeing the development and implementation of policies and procedures as appropriateCoordinating and leading team meetingsOther duties as necessaryThe Experience You Bring: Bachelors or master's degree in accounting/financeCPA certification is strongly preferredMinimum of ten years of related accounting experienceSEC reporting experience desired, and IPO Readiness Experience is a plusBig 4/public accounting background preferred, Manager level or higherWorker Type: Employee
