Knowledge and Skills: -Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong proofreading skills.
-Experience and background in desktop publishing software is preferred, especially Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
-Experience with NCAA Live Stats/Genius Sports scoring software for the following sports preferred: football, volleyball, soccer, and basketball.
-Experience with StatCrew software in the following sports preferred: baseball, softball, tennis, golf, football, volleyball, soccer, and basketball.
-Background in athletic website maintenance is preferred. SIDEARM Sports is our website provider.
-Experience and knowledge with social media platforms.
-Knowledge of TrackWrestling scoring software for wrestling is a plus.
-Graphic design/video editing/creative content skills are a plus.
-Knowledge of graphic template software such as BoxOut, Gipper, and Canva are a plus.
-Familiarity with streaming software. Hudl/Blueframe Technology/Production Truck is the platform used at FHSU.
General Responsibilities: The graduate assistant will assist the sports information director and assistant sports information director in day-to-day coverage of all 17 intercollegiate athletic programs at FHSU. Primary responsibilities include writing press releases, previews, and recaps for sports assigned, assistance in the production of record books and game day programs, statistical operations with NCAA Live Stats (NLS), Statcrew, and TrackWrestling software, assistance with game day and press box/row operations, maintenance of the athletic website – use of social media, content creation for social media, and assistance with other tasks assigned by the sports information director. Some undergraduate student worker supervision is also required. Travel may be required to specified events, but not all road events. Some educational supervision may be required as well as a graduate assistant under the HHP Department at FHSU.
Specific Responsibilities: The graduate assistant will be expected to assist in day-to-day office operations and game day operations for all sports.
Compensation: Stipend of $10,000.00 (paid in monthly installments over 10 months) and tuition assistance. Position can be extended for a second year based on academic and administrative performance evaluation.
