Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, public health, curriculum and instruction or related field. 6 years of post-degree experience to include: work experience in disability services through social work, public health, community outreach or a related field. Experience in building community relationships, engaging stakeholders and sharing data with communities. Experience providing leadership to staff, including working with a variety of stakeholders across multiple settings and initiatives in a collaborative environment. Demonstrated experience in engaging communities and connecting with community stakeholders. Experience working effectively across systems, communities, backgrounds, identities and cultures. Demonstrated ability to understand basic research and accurately translate research findings to the community. Responsive in communication with ICI team over e-mail (primary) and other modes of communication.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in education, psychology, social work, curriculum and instruction or related field. 7-10 years of experience in psychology, education, social work, public health, or disability field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to connect ideas to grants and community-based projects. Experience mentoring professionals and emerging community leaders.
Position Overview


The Institute on Community (ICI) seeks an individual to serve as a part-time temporary casual position. The candidate must demonstrate ability to understand basic research, abstract data elements, and accurately translate research findings to the community. The role also will include outreach support for an early childhood public health project promoting early developmental monitoring and developmental monitoring. Additional tasks include development through co-creation methods, developing messaging and presenting research findings to the community. This position may require some travel in MN outside of the TC area.

Job Responsibilities
Community Outreach (40% time)
Support early childhood public health outreach. Serves as a bi-directional information resource for multiple ICI research projects such as the MN Autism Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) project, Learn the Signs, Act Early (LTSAE), MN Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program. Assist in developing professional relationships and reciprocal partnerships with community organizations, leaders of community groups, associations, etc. Assists in program planning and development for new projects and programs by working with PI's and colleagues to identify priorities and practices that align with a community-based perspective. Reviews publications and provides feedback, ensuring perspectives of community are included. Facilitates translation of research into meaningful community projects and applications. Support social media and other outreach.
Research and Dissemination (40% time)
Assist with creation of data translation briefs. Supports co-development of research and community-based programs that focus on the intersection of culture and disability issues. Prepares documents for presentations and webinars, as needed. Collaborates with PI's, project managers and coordinators to create messaging and materials. Assist with grant reports. Help with data entry and collection. Assist in grant development and submission process, as needed.
Miscellaneous Tasks (20% time)
Attend initial training. Attend regular team meetings (as needed). Regular email communication and prompt response. Provide support to other projects as needed. Assist with evaluation and reporting activities. About the Department:
