Responsibilities The Underwriter is a member of our Express Account underwriting team. Our Express Account team underwrites accounts across all of our business segments with varying degrees of complexity. Accounts typically range in size from $10,000 to over $100,000 in premium.
The role's primary responsibility will be to underwrite accounts. In addition, you will contribute to our underwriting direction, evaluate profitability with underwriting leaders, collaborate with our technology teams on product enhancements and analyze data with actuaries. You will also have the opportunity to contribute and explore new insurance products and new business segments as Intrepid continues to grow and evolve.
Key functions include but are not limited to:
Underwrite accounts per letter of authority - new and renewal Profitably underwrite their assigned book of business Develop a strong understanding of Intrepid's Brand Strategy/Underwriting Appetite to allow them to quickly make decisions about pricing and determine acceptable risk characteristics Work closely with technology teams to create underwriting efficiencies Contribute to the refinement of underwriting processes and workflows Gain deep expertise in our targeted business segments Support Underwriting Manager and VP of Underwriting on projects and product development Collaborate with our sales, client services, and technology teams to enhance the customer experience Execute underwriting strategy and follow established underwriting guidelines Contribute to the innovative processes at IDI Qualifications Bachelor's degree CPCU, AU and/or other related professional designations preferred/ current progress underway Underwriting experience - minimum of 3 years as an underwriter in a Commercial Multi-Line Setting Has underwritten new and renewal business with success in achieving growth and profitability Multi-line commercial background ideally including Property, Liability, Automobile, Umbrella, Workers Compensation, and BOPs Knowledge underwriting "Main Street" classes of business Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication Curious by nature Collaborative Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively Detail oriented Strategic thinker Evidence based decision making Strong written and oral communication skills Self-starting, self-motivating Comfortable with adapting to new technologies Additional Company Details We do not accept unsolicited resumes from third party recruiting agencies or firms.
