Traveling Operations SupervisorDescription/Job Summary
PURPOSE
Support the development, coordination and implementation of terminal training and educational programs for all terminal employees, as well as assisting with terminal operations as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESLearn all aspects of Terminal OperationsProvide temporary coverage for Terminal Managers and Supervisors as requiredSupport terminal employee development by identifying training requirements; develop, construct, maintain, and evaluation instructional design; coach conduct and facilitate training programs.Assist in coordinating and facilitating training programs for Dohrn employees on company policies, programs and equipmentParticipate in developing, designing, and/or coordinating training materials and other related training aids such as films, visual aids, and necessary equipmentAssist in the evaluation and measurement of training program effectivenessAssist in developing process changes, documentation, and communication to employeesFill in for operational vacancies as needed.Cover for emergency drivers as neededAct as interim Terminal Manager when the need presents itselfWork on operational initiatives and special projects as directedExtensive travel requiredRemain flexible and react to change productively; handle other essential tasks as assignedMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSValid Driver LicenseMaintain medical card and driver qualificationCollege Degree preferredOpen to future relocation preferredMust have command of the English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customersMust possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsMust be proficient in Microsoft Office software productsMust consent to a 10-year check on work history; Gaps of 30 days or more must be listed and explained; documentation may be requested; Discrepancies may prevent applications from being processed or withdrawal of the job offerSupervisory experience preferredProblem solver, self-motivated, detail-orientedAbility to work in a team as well as individuallyExcellent Customer Service skillsProfessionalism and business acumenMust exhibit strong ethics and good judgmentMust possess Time Management skillsWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDSMust have the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentTravel to regional terminals is required to support operations; job includes some weekend and night hoursExposure to dock/warehouse operations, moving equipment, dust, noise, hot & cold seasonable temperatureSome sedentary work – exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of forces frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing computer terminal, and extensive readingManual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingersTalking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; may be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others Benefits of working as a Traveling Operations Supervisor in Rock Island, IL:
