As an IT Systems Analyst, you will be the driving force behind our enterprise software solutions, managing projects from initial requirements gathering to implementation and post-launch support. Your day will kick off with project oversight, including follow-ups and addressing urgent application and system issues. From new software deployments to ongoing support of systems, your expertise will be crucial in shaping our enterprise application landscape. Required Education and Experience : Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and Six (6) years of experience with computer hardware and software support, database development and management. A bachelor's degree in computer science or other area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for two (2) years of experience. Preferred Qualifications : Proficiency in SQL scripting for querying databases and generating reports. Prior experience with Cognos, Crystal Reports, and SSRS reporting tools. Available Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Opportunity for alternate schedule after the first 90-days: May be eligible for telework. The anticipated hiring range for the Systems Analyst position is $41.99 (first step) to $44.09 or $46.29 (second or third step). Directly related experience and qualifications will be evaluated alongside others who perform work of comparable character as required by Pay Equity Law. Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps. The Chamber Essential Functions of the Position: Analyze business requirements, research trends and industry best practices, and implements business applications to provide creative, efficient, effective, and sometimes disruptive solutions. Workflow/business process analysis, including cost/benefit analysis. Troubleshoots and resolves complex technical issues. Application installation, configuration, and go-live testing, support, and ongoing enhancements. Project management, including the development of project plans and timelines. Assists with projects on multiple Operating Systems, database, and application platforms. Communicate and work with core and third-party vendor sales, applications, and support. Subject matter experts on supported core and third-party applications. Repairs and recovers systems from software/hardware failures, and coordinates and communicates with impacted parties. Administers industry standard databases, manages user authority, provides application user access and ensures integrity of related databases and associated applications.  Maintains and possesses knowledge of software applications used by the City, such as MS Office, MS SQL, Cognos, and other applicable technology. Perform quality assurance over interim work products and deliverables. Develops and maintains customized reports for database applications, and system management documentation. Ensures successful application and database interfaces, and installs and tests various system and application software packages. Supports Windows platform, complex networks, and public access to web- based services. Ensures positive customer service through professional, courteous behavior and creative problem resolution. Uses clear verbal and written communication skills to work across the organization supporting City executive, supervisory/management and line staff. Other Functions of the Position: Develop functional/technical specifications identifying the features and functions of an application. Facilitate customer sessions to define their application requirements. Prepare procedures, handbooks, manuals, and other training related materials. Assists with the development of project proposals and work program/budget. Design and develop complex data marts and data warehouses. Customer presentation, demonstrations, feedback sessions, and training. Instructs information technology professionals and City personnel on basic to advanced elements of various software application packages. Upholds the values of the organization and has strong customer service orientation. Handles job stress and interacts effectively with others in the workplace. Fosters an environment that embraces diversity, integrity, trust, and respect. Is an integral team player, which involves flexibility, cooperation, and communication. Work Environment & Physical Demands:  Position performs work indoors in an office environment with regulated and minimal environmental conditions. There may be routine physical discomforts from prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and focusing on a computer screen. The noise level is typically moderate. Occasional travel by motor vehicle on public roads may be required.
Position primarily requires standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions. Requires exertion of up to 20 pounds of force daily to move and carry objects. Acceptable hearing, visual acuity, and the ability to communicate verbally are necessary.
