Job Title: Construction Manager (Solar)

Job Type: Contract (May 2024 – May 2025)
Compensation: Hourly + $149/Per Diem (Company Truck Included) Overview:
System One is looking to hire a Construction Manager for a utility scale solar farm and BESS site in Kern, County, CA. The CM position consists of overall coordination, observation and reporting of all project work occurring at the project site as the project owner's representative.
The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled CM with broad overall experience within the utility scale solar and renewable energy industry. The CM's primary role is to oversee the execution of the site to ensure that all contractors are holding up to their contractual agreements in terms of safety, schedule, budget, and safety. Coordination of onsite meetings, visits, inspections, and scheduled work activities. Field observation of project work on site. Continuous observation, review, and reporting on compliance with site safety processes. Construction Contract Quality Assurance. Construction Contractor Safety Audits. Verify Reported Work Progress. Evaluation of compliance of project work to applicable plans, specifications, and codes. Facilitate resolution of project issues that may occur on site such as construction problems, scheduling delays, logistical conflicts, and construction methods. Onsite Issues Resolution. Maintain activities and deliveries logs. Regular Progress and Inspection Reporting. Review of submitted Contractor Change Orders. Work directly with Overall Project Director, Project Managers, PCC, contractors, turbine supplier, engineers, vendors, and others as required. Provide specialized support to the Project Director as requested. Such support may include procurement of additional staffing, specialized equipment, or outside contract services. Coordinate final inspections, testing, commissioning, and walk-downs and establish final punch list. Ensure that the FOs observe and report on the required safety check points. Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required; advanced education preferred. Minimum of 7 years in the utility scale solar/renewable energy industry. Experience working on projects over 100MW (preferred). At least 5 years of construction management experience in utility scale solar (required). OSHA 10 Certification (preferred).
