Responsibilities
• Fabricate, assemble, and erect metal components for marine vessels• Work with various tools and equipment in a shipyard production environment• Follow safety procedures and standards while working at different heights and in confined spaces• Read and interpret blueprints, use metric and standard measurements• Work different shifts based on construction needs
Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of trade experience• Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills• Knowledge of layout, fit-up, and fabrication of steel plate and beam• Experience with trade-specific tools• Nice to have: 6+ years of marine, shipbuilding, and construction experience• Nice to have: Knowledge of setting and erecting units and advanced blueprint reading skills
