Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Performs innovative data management, data analyses, and statistical analyses on large administrative healthcare databases using statistical packages such as SAS and Stata. Assists investigators in the design and analysis of health services research studies. May be required to assume major analytics responsibilities on large projects.

Job Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Performs data analysis and data management using the best methodologies as implemented in statistical packages (SAS, SQL, Stata, R). Manages and analyzes large Medicare claims and other administrative healthcare datasets. Implements health services research studies using statistical and econometric methods. Advises, consults, and assists investigators in data management, analytics, and statistical analyses of large health services research studies using administrative and survey data. Assists in data base design, implementation and maintenance of data collected over time for research purposes, including acquisition, editing and reporting. Assumes major/exclusive analytics responsibilities on large projects. May help train and/or supervise other staff. Performs research-related activities with limited supervision, including but not limited to: Prioritizing and timely delivery of statistical analyses. Report writing. Generation of tables and graphs. Providing publication-quality material to investigators for manuscripts and grants. Preferred Qualifications Masterâ™s degree in biostatistics, health services research, health economics or other related quantitative discipline. Three to five years of full-time work experience in health services research using complex statistical methods with SAS, SQL, Stata, and R programming languages to link and analyze large medical claims databases. Expert in SAS and SQL programming, as well as Stata or R. Expert in management and analysis of large healthcare claims and other administrative databases. Advanced methodological training in statistics and/or econometrics. Prior experience in conducting health services research studies. Analytical, quantitative, and verbal reasoning and problem-solving skills. Required Qualifications Bachelorâ™s degree and three years of related experience; a combination of college education and/or relevant experience equaling seven years may substitute for this requirement.
Grade G13 Salary Range $64,700.00 - $110,500.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
