S2Technologies is seeking a skilled Senior Linux/UNIX System Administrator to support AFTAC and sustain/enhance the 709th Cyber Support Squadron's capabilities to provide cyberspace mission assurance for AFTAC's global enterprise.
Job Responsibilities: Perform complex Linux based issue resolution, correlation and root cause analysis on recurring issues and analytics for trend analysis for on prem and CLOUD based systems. Perform Linux based proactive space and growth management, HA and scalability improvements and strategy, backup and recovery improvements and strategy, and clustering and replication improvements and strategy. Evaluate Linux based vendor submissions for compliance with customer's specifications on technical solutions. Evaluate service-level contracts for IT infrastructure such as server hardware or software licensing. Document all complex procedures and installations of new Linux based products. Function as SME and trainer to government help desk and desktop support technicians for troubleshooting and restoral activities. Coordinate large-scale projects such as the movement of a data storage, physicalto-virtual (P2V) server conversions and Solaris migrations to RedHat. Manage users and groups, including use of a centralized directory for authentication. Manipulate and edit files, directories, and link from both command line and graphical interface. Create and configure file systems and file system attributes, such as permissions, encryption, and access control lists to include network file systems. Maintain/configure internal and external DNS utilizing Bind. Manages RedHat 6.x and above System administration, performance tuning/monitoring, maintaining fault tolerance, account management for internal, lab environments and remote locations. Provide support to the IT manager in developing and coordinating future IT infrastructure replacement plans and shall include hardware tech refreshes and software upgrades. Perform complex user account migrations of Network Information Service (NIS) and LDAP on RedHat 6.x and above. 2.3.12 Build RedHat KickStart configurations and perform server installations with KickStart. Manage complex RedHat SELinux configurations and perform troubleshooting. Build, install and manage complex RedHat Satellite servers managing hundreds of clients. Interface with cross-functional teams and developers to support and resolve technical problems. Executes RHEL interoperability. Ability to perform shell scripting in one of the more common shells such as: Bash, C, or Korn. Provide assistance to users in compiling scientific modeling software and in resolving job scheduling conflicts or failures. Address and provide mitigation plan on CCRI findings. Achieve a 2.5 or below compliance score baseline within 6 months and maintain CCRI patching compliance score on a weekly basis. Perform complex user account migrations of Network Information Service (NIS) to LDAP on RedHat 6.x and above. Build, install and manage complex RedHat Satellite servers managing hundreds of clients. Build Solaris 11 Image Packaging System servers to perform installations and updates for Solaris 11 SPARC and Solaris 11 x86 servers.
