Main Purpose of Job: Three constituent parts Business Development, Marketing, and Managing Clients/Customer Feedback To seek out new business opportunities (tenders) and sell all of our existing services Increase the frequency of revenue generating tenders To raise the companies profile in traditional and new media Assist with overall growth of the new business line Co-ordinate with the business leaders to ensure they have the latest information in terms of opportunities and client relationships Key Tasks: To identify future major projects that will potentially require BSL input To pro-actively identify and pursue new client's growth from existing clients in new areas Regularly meet with UK's leading and niche consulting engineers to understand their workloads and potential effects on our business. Understand what they are working on, when they are working on it and for who they are doing it Understanding what our competitors are doing, who they are working for and why, what they are doing differently to secure work that we are not either bidding or are losing when bid Using the two key tasks above produce a monthly task review and present it to the Pre-Construction Manager Develop and Produce and co-ordinate an annual Business Development Plan for all major projects business streams. To be in place by the last quarter of the year Work with Business Director, Pre-Constriction Manager Regional Managers to promote the company and its products to both new and existing customers Work with the Marketing team to generate stock photographs, standard company literature (Case Studies, Capability Statements, Plant & Equipment holding and key staff CV's etc.) and standard PowerPoint presentation templates. Review all of these at least every quarter Writing and publishing of news articles in industry publications target one article a quarter, internal news items every two weeks Ensure our image is current, relevant and in keeping with Group policies/standards Develop and maintain an agreed business development plan including detailed budget annually to be in place by last quarter of the year ensuring ROI Develop and implement company marketing strategy in accordance with the budget through advertising, company freebies, Technical Presentations, Breakfast clubs, Seminars, Lunch & Learn, CPD days Using the marketing functions to ensure - Linkedin, Twitter and company website, regularly updating these with relevant information promoting the company Manage the procurement of external agencies as required, ensuring they provide value for money Arrange, organise and attend industry exhibitions/awards/corporate and industry functions Co-ordinate Industry Award Entries e.g. GE awards, BDA awards, Construction Industry Awards, Brownfield Awards etc. Attending projects to be aware of the latest business processes and capabilities to be able to engage with clients from a point of technical knowledge To co-ordinate and develop business unit specific customer relationships and maintain key client records through the Salesforce platform Provide a customer orientated service which provides a company contact allowing the highest possible client satisfaction  Assist the Proposals Co-ordinator and Estimating team with supporting documentation/presentations as necessary Ensure all BSL employees are aware of the importance of 'Brand' presentation and the part they play in marketing the company Knowledge and Experience Required: Essential understanding of what the company can and cannot do and how our capabilities and requirements continually change - adaptable Significant experience of the UK geotechnical and construction industry  Has impact making first impressions count High levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all forms of communication Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, database management and Desktop Publishing Proven ability to work well in a team or as an individual Sound knowledge of social media, salesforce and marketing platforms Effective management of ones time to ensure deadlines are met Good interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and members of the regional team Good customer-service focus and a professional approach Good time management Driven towards providing a quality service Full UK driving license Physical Working Environment: Normally working at our Camberley Office, with regular travel to customers and regional offices as required
