Additional information about the company can be found at WhirlpoolCorp.com.This role in summaryWe are seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Analyst - U.S. Income Tax position to join our Tax Department.The Whirlpool Corporation Tax Department is a dynamic, high-energy, fast-paced environment that will develop and challenge even the most sophisticated tax professional.  This role will be responsible for working across our finance organization, overseeing complex tax matters and partnering with our business leaders to provide tax guidance on Whirlpool's strategic initiatives.  U.S. federal and state income tax compliance is outsourced, so while this position will assist and help manage that outsourced process, the primary focus of this role will be active engagement with tax planning and risk mitigation strategies, aligning Whirlpool's tax profile with its business objectives.This role will be located at Whirlpool's corporate headquarters in Benton Harbor, Michigan.Your responsibilities will includeAssist service providers with tax calculations and supporting information to ensure timely filing of company's U.S. federal & state income tax returnsReview of all material tax forms, elections, and statements in the company's U.S. income tax returnsReview and manage the company's income tax accounting methodsAssist with modeling the economic impact of potential tax planning opportunities, completing tax research projects as neededMonitor and estimate potential adverse limitations on tax attributes and tax deductions, including Sections 162(m) & 163(j)Assess the ETR and cash tax impact of proposed tax legislation on the company's U.S. income tax positionEnsure adequate documentation of tax attributes related to foreign operations (e.g. FTCs, E&P, DCLs, tax basis, etc)Ensure proper documentation of tax positions for ASC 740/SOX and internal audit purposesAssist non-US tax personnel with training and development on US income tax issuesAssist with responses to requests from the IRS and other U.S. tax authorities as neededAssist with maintenance of the company's legal organization chart as neededTravel (less than 5% per year)Minimum requirementsBachelor's Degree3+ years of U.S. federal income tax compliance experience with a public accounting firm and/or in the corporate tax department of global, multinational companiesPreferred skills and experiencesMasters Degree in AccountancyStrong experience using technology to achieve efficiencies in tax processesExperience with CorpTax and OneSourceExceptional team member (cooperative, positive, and engaging), with strong references from prior managersDemonstrated ability to partner with external service providers to maximize the value of tax compliance and planning projectsRSRWHAdditional informationWhirlpool's Ways of WorkingOur goal is to provide an environment that helps you bring your best to Whirlpool every day.
