Details of the offer

A small HVAC operation started with a primary focus on residential new construction. The company expanded into the existing residential homes and small commercial markets. We withstood the largest downturn in the economy with no layoffs and increased employee benefits.
Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Purchasing Clerk who does routine purchasing of materials and equipment needs of multiple departments. This person will also schedule a Receiving Agent as needed for site deliveries and communicate with vendors and shippers to ensure accuracy and punctuality.

Pay Scale: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience
Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED 1-3 years of purchasing experience and/or training Valid driver's license Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen Ability to understand and communicate professionally in English Highly organized with the ability to work independently and with a team Attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracy Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word, and Outlook Preferred Qualifications: Full working knowledge of HVAC procedures and practices Solid knowledge of MRP systems Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Learn to identify products by part number, description, size, type, style, color, or purpose. Contribute to a safe work environment through continuous focus on housekeeping and safety. Interface with each Department to assist in solving problems with deliveries, short shipments, damaged goods, and merchandise shipped in error, and assist with changes in delivery schedules. Work closely with team members when a part is needed and make every effort to keep techs on jobs working and not unnecessarily drive to pick up parts at supply houses. Constant and timely communication with departments regarding part availability will be key in ensuring proper scheduling of parts for return trips. Assist with staging all received equipment together in a job group clearly labeled for that installation, as needed. Keep the shop floor clean and organized. Issues and follows through on all purchase orders to ensure Operations and installers are set up for success. Maintains and monitors usage and costs of refrigerant for trucks and shop tools and enters Tracking Software. Collaborate with the Receiving Agent if any deliveries or parts pick-up requests occur. Facilitate resolution of material issues with vendors. Provide feedback to managers on current processes and make recommendations to increase efficiency. Assist with Fleet Management. Backup Receiving Agent on delivering materials as needed. Accurately check in/out rental equipment to ensure assets are maintained. Special projects and duties as assigned. Responsibilities are subject to change as the Purchasing Clerk becomes more adept at their role and can take on additional work.
