Position Overview
As a Property Accountant II, you will benefit from a supportive mentorship, a clear career trajectory, access to comprehensive training resources, and the flexibility of a hybrid or remote work arrangement. This role offers invaluable experience in full-cycle G/L accounting, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for assigned portfolios. Collaborating closely with the Property Management team, you will contribute to annual budgeting and reconciliation processes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Generate internal and external financial reports for assigned portfolios, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Maintain regular communication with the property management team and Property Manager(s) regarding accounting and financial matters.
- Support clients on basic to intermediate issues, escalating complex matters to supervisors or managers as necessary.
- Facilitate the property budgeting process and expense reconciliation through data review.
- Prepare both routine and ad hoc reports and analyses as required.
- Manage cash accounts for each project/property, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
- Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with internal and external policies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertake additional projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a relevant field.
- 2-4 years of experience in commercial property accounting/reporting.
- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; experience with Yardi and/or MRI is advantageous.
- Familiarity with full-cycle G/L accounting and CAM reconciliations is a plus.
