Team Shelby is looking for Product Managers that embrace Lean, Agile, and Human Centered Design practices to deliver innovative software products for Ford Motor Company. Product Managers will collaborate directly and continuously with Software Engineers, Designers, and Subject-Matter Experts.
As the Product Manager, you will maintain an entrepreneurial mindset while working with the Product Team to understand a problem space, ideate and validate an ideal solution, and deliver an MVP that routinely evolves through user and stakeholder feedback.
What you'll be able to do: + Facilitate product research and discovery with the Product Team
+ Collaborate with members of the Product Team to define specs, requirements, and acceptance criteria for deliverables.
+ Work with key stakeholders to set strategy, define the product roadmap, and make appropriate trade-offs between features and speed.
+ Creatively identify and communicate with potential customers to define their needs and identify hypotheses for testing.
+ Deliver incremental value by making smart, decisive tradeoffs using data-driven analysis and sound judgment.
+ Develop and test product hypotheses, working in a lean and iterative way.
+ Create assets to guide product development work (Discovery + Framing documents, opportunity trees, user stories for implementation).
+ Be responsible for outcomes by setting clear goals and measuring key results.
+ Help stakeholders understand our iterative development approach.
+ Mentor and train PMs to help them learn Agile/XP methods and build skills.
+ Innovate and iterate on Agile PM processes and share our learnings.
The minimum requirements we seek: + Bachelor's Degree
+ 1+ years of facilitating workshops or ceremonies such as defining/redefining the project's objectives or requirements, setting key milestones, managing roadmaps, prioritizing competing projects, discovery any roadblocks, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint review, and/or sprint retrospective
Our preferred requirements: + Experience with progressive responsibilities in software development
+ Experience defining the product vision, strategy, and product roadmaps and creating and managing backlogs
+ You are entrepreneurial, independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.
+ Exhibit excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to customers and internal audiences.
+ Comfortable presenting to and interacting with vendors, customers, and senior leadership.
+ You are a champion for collaborative, iterative product discovery, and embrace your role as a member of a cross-disciplinary team.
+ Have exposure to lightweight product development methods such as user story mapping or rapid prototyping.
+ Bring curiosity about new technology and exhibit a strong desire to learn.
+ Exhibit user empathy and seek their input at all stages of the product life cycle.
+ Experience working in Lean, human-centered, agile software development
