National Business Development Officer Location Chicago, IL : : We are seeking a senior level business development officer to market/sell/close client engagements across three related Hilco businesses: Hilco Financial Diligence/Transactions Advisory Hilco Performance Solutions Hilco Diligence Services Company Background: Hilco Global is a diversified financial services company differentiated by 4 decades of serving as an advisor, agent, and capital partner in the transactions we touch. We assist clients in: Operational improvements for manufacturing, distribution and logistics supply chain issues Pre-acquisition operational evaluations Financial and accounting diligence for M&A transaction, focused on Quality Earnings and deal specific accounting investigations. ABL field exam and related diligence services We are a rapidly growing team, looking for individuals who want to accelerate their career trajectory and be part of an effort larger than their individual contribution. Hilco Performance Solutions provides solutions and advisory services on Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Operations to help clients develop better business processes and generate profitable revenue growth. We also perform pre-acquisition diligence on behalf of PE firms seeking an evaluation of manufacturing and/or distribution & logistics matters. We have both industry experts as well as consulting experience to deliver optimal solutions to our clients' needs. We work with clients to solve problems, to prioritize issues and to recommend quick, decisive, and actionable solutions. Hilco Financial Diligence Services/Transaction Advisory Hilco Global, a powerhouse in asset valuation, asset-based lending, and restructuring now extends its deep-rooted expertise to deal-specific financial and accounting diligence for clients across a diverse set of assignment types, including Quality of Earnings (QoE) financial due diligence. Our unparalleled experience in asset understanding uniquely positions us to evaluate and uncover the quality, sustainability, and predictability of earnings. Our expertise spans several assignment types, such as revenue & gross profit analysis, EBITDA run-rate and multi-period forecast and forecast to actuals, operating expense breakdown review, capital expenditure analysis by category, working capital analysis, contingent liabilities and off-balance sheet items, forensics and a review of related party transactions. Hilco Diligence Services - ABL and Specialty Finance We execute ABL field exam engagements for lenders, debt advisors, PE firms and issuers in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, EU and Australia/New Zealand. Our industry experience includes C&I, retail/e-commerce, commercial and consumer AR, leasing, Factoring, ABL, rent to own, subprime consumer paper Sub-prime auto & motorcycle leases/loans. When needed, we leverage Hilco Global expertise and resources around the world, including Hilco's retail, intellectual property, C&I and AR liquidation businesses. We are seeking a business development professional to cover referral sources and clients across the US with the objective of keeping Hilco top of mind and informing the market of our skillsets and expertise. To convey the message that Hilco has the expertise and flexibility to solve their problems - the issues at hand do not need to fit into a bucket. We are well rounded in experience and creative to find the right solutions to meet clients' needs and budget. This position will act in both an offensive and defensive manner. The offence is the top of mind. The defense would be to get in front of our competitors and communicate to the market the Hilco difference. Duties include attending and maintaining a presence in all of our markets—banks, non-bank lenders, PE firms, debt advisors and specialty investment banks, including venues such as: Conferences One on Ones Small, curated event planning, including managing and coordinating client office lunch and learns or social events Emails, calls The successful candidate would already have an established network but would be expected to build that network and be on a first name basis with influential referral sources and clients. This BDO would be a trusted confidante and resource to ensure Hilco is the first call. Staying in touch with the market, keeping Hilco top of mind, and educating the market on core competencies, expertise and the key differentiators from the competition in our markets are key responsibilities of this role. Requirements Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or economics or MBA, or Engineering undergrad and MBA Circa 15 years commercial lending experience, ABL a plus, or debt capital markets/debt advisory roles Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and listening, public speaking, written skills Excellent business acumen, financial and analytical skills, understands capital markets, M&A processes, creative, flexible Very approachable, strong inter-personal skills and ability to get along with a diverse community Team player Other matters Commercial credit, lending and/or work out experience required Asset-based lending or management consulting experience preferred Reports to Rob Kuppens, MD - Client Relations Chicago, Boston or NY based Title commensurate with experience Hilco Global is an equal opportunity employer.
