Concrete Careers is supporting a client looking for an experienced project management or engineering candidate for its materials engineering/testing department in Farmington, NM. The client is a locally owned engineering business with an outstanding reputation and offers competitive pay with good benefits. Competitive pay based upon number years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will have an educational background in engineering or civil engineering technology with experience in managing materials testing/inspection/COMET projects or as a quality control manager on construction projects. The ideal candidate is a professional engineer or an engineering degree with relevant experience and has a hard-working attitude, will be a proactive problem solver, and will have good interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to work apart of an experience testing and engineering team while executing the following roles/responsibilities:
Manage construction materials testing and inspections projects to meet client expectations and fulfill contract requirements of individual project specifications and drawings. Quality control management. Prepare and aid in reporting and review of laboratory testing in accordance with applicable standards. Review and approve materials testing and inspection field reports. Estimate and manage testing and inspection budgets based on project documents and client interactions. Communicate with clients, owners, architects, engineers, and/or contractors to ensure testing and inspection services are provided as required. Coordinate with coworkers to provide results in a timely and accurate manner. Work in the field may be required based upon specific projects. Skills / Qualifications: B.S. or M.S. in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related degree required. Minimum 4 years relevant experience in managing projects in the materials testing/inspection industry. Professional engineering licensure a plus. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to quickly learn the software used by the company, Agile Frameworks MetaField. Hard working attitude, self-motivated, and good written/verbal communication skills. Ability to travel to project sites primarily in NM, AZ, and CO in a company vehicle with possible weekend work and overnight stays required on a limited basis. Must pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record.
