**PURPOSE**
As a care assistant, you will enrich residents' well-being by providing attentive support and care. Your role is vital to creating a welcoming, compassionate environment where residents feel cared for.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Make regular rounds to check on residents and assist with basic needs, such as providing water, escorting residents in wheelchairs, and retrieving requested items to ensure comfort and convenience.
- During mealtimes, help residents with eating as needed. You may assist with cutting food, opening containers, or feeding residents. Also provide between-meal nourishment like snacks and beverages.
- Respond promptly when call lights are activated. Determine if a nurse aide is required and notify them.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Warm, patient-focused service mindset with strong communication abilities. You can develop rapport with seniors and determine how best to assist them.
- Knowledge of growth, development, and care needs across the lifespan to provide appropriate, individualized care aligned to residents' ages and conditions.
- Comfort working in an environment with possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Proper protective protocol is followed.
**PREFERRED**
- Previous experience caring for seniors demonstrates your passion for this role.
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Full range of motion to walk, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, twist, and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent eye-hand coordination and dexterity for grasping tasks.
- Skilled verbal communication to interact with residents and staff.
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
- Able to operate a vehicle for work purposes.
