Position Summary & Responsibilities Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Incumbent will perform grounds maintenance for property of the 184th Civil Engineering Squadron including mowing, weed eating, edging, maintaining flower beds, landscaping and shrub and tree trimming. Maintains and repairs sidewalks and walkways, Provides snow removal by operating snow removal equipment including plows, bob cats, salt and sand spreaders, and brine solution production and application. Maintains and winterizes all grounds and snow removal equipment, cleans and repairs mowers, and sharpens blades. Maintains lawn irrigation systems including irrigation underground piping repairs and relocating as well as maintenance, repair, and relocation of control wiring.
Performs facility maintenance tasks including painting interior and exterior structures, doors, access hatches, light poles and cabinets. Creates bills to procure materials and supplies for work orders, fabricates and installs wood and metal stud walls. Installs, muds, tapes, and sands sheet rock, wood, metal, concrete block, brick, and concrete and asphalt pavements. Replaces carpeting, vinyl and ceramic floor tile, and installs or replaces ceiling grids and tile. Changes and cleans HVAC filters, light bulbs, and cleans and maintains common areas and bathrooms according to cleaning/sanitary requirements. Performs trash pickup, floor care, window cleaning and custodial equipment repair.
Qualifications Education : High school diploman or GED Minimum Qualifications : One (1) year experience and/or training in grounds maintenance, facility maintenance and repair, and custodial work including operating commercial lawn equipment and custodial equipment.
Must be able to work at heights up to 85 feet, lift 50 lb., and work in strenuous body positions. Incumbent is subject to call back during non-duty hours and periodically work in inclement weather Preferred Qualifications : Working knowledge of applicable OSHA and Air Force regulations and building codes, specialized knowledge, experience and ability working in building trades and grounds maintenance.
