The Delaware Riverkeeper Network (DRN), and its affiliated sister organization, Green Amendments For the Generations (GAFTG), based in Bristol, PA, are committed to creating an inclusive community of staff and volunteers that is representative of the communities we serve. DRN and its sister organization are seeking to hire a Finance and Operations Manager. This position is full-time. Description
DRN and GAFTG are sister organizations. We are seeking to fill a position that supports an integrated body of work serving the mission of both organizations and providing essential day to day support to the Delaware Riverkeeper who leads both organizations. The Manager will provide financial and operational support to the organizing work led by the Delaware Riverkeeper to protect the Delaware River Watershed and ecosystems, and advancing community education efforts to secure
constitutional Green Amendment protections for environmental rights. This position will also provide administrative support to the Delaware Riverkeeper, coordinating meetings, responding to speaking requests, organizing travel, and crafting written communications to support organizational engagement with members.
Reports to
the Delaware Riverkeeper/Green Amendments For the Generations Founder.
Responsibilities
Provide executive level communications support by processing correspondence to and from the Riverkeeper/Founder, including the drafting of selected correspondence, memoranda and reports, and proofreading communications with members and high level foundation supporters; Coordinate and maintain minutes for in person and virtual meetings for the Riverkeeper/Founder and agency representatives, legislators, and grassroots coalition members; Lead and/or participate in hiring, including reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, making hiring recommendations, and drafting offer letters; Oversee and train junior staff including reviewing program work and conducting employee evaluations; Independently manage financial records, including bill processing, developing budgets, purchasing, and tracking of invoices and check requests using QuickBooks. Support annual financial audit; Procure required internal and external resources and services and manage their utilization; Ensure compliance with lobbying regulations and submit quarterly expense reports; Organize and support virtual and in person speaking engagements, community trainings, advocacy actions, and multi-day educational forums, including keynote invitations, media appearances, and university programs; Provide high level management of the Riverkeeper/Founder's calendar across multiple time zones, email inboxes, and travel schedule; Serve as an internal and external resource on policy and procedural matters to various constituents; Manage all Governance efforts for GAFTG Board communications, agendas, and minutes. Support DRN Board of Directors' communications, meeting minutes, and materials, and provide organizing support for Board meetings; Maintain compliance for charitable registrations and organizational insurance policies; and Other duties as assigned. Advocacy Responsibilities
Engage with stakeholders and environmental justice leaders, participate in strategy discussions, coordinate educational programs, and liaise with legislators; Support DRN advocacy and strategy efforts on fossil fuel infrastructure challenges, endangered species issues, and water quality impacts of industrial and development project proposals; Disseminate press communications using Cision database. Write monthly newsletters, annual reports, and action alerts; Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other environmental organizations. Represent the organization at various community and/or business meetings; and Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor's degree or five years of experience in relevant field Advanced knowledge of environmental policy, with a focus on water, energy, and climate Understanding of how environmental issues intersect with racism and economic and social inequality Ability to plan and manage multiple projects, delegate tasks, and check on the completion of assigned tasks Firm understanding of principles of nonprofit accounting, internal controls, and audit procedures Experience in human resources, recruiting, and/or fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit setting High-level of computer literacy and a strong aptitude for mastering new applications. Experience with QuickBooks required Strong research and analytical skills Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Good time-management skills Team player with leadership skills, abilities, and a desire to interact with people at all levels Valid driver's license and good driving record is required. Ability to travel around the Watershed is required. Some evening and weekend work required.
Salary
Base starts at $48,000 dependent upon experience, but is negotiable.

The position is based in DRN's main office in Bristol, Bucks County, PA. Employees may be eligible to work remotely if their job duties can be met through basic hardware and software, they've proven to be trustworthy, disciplined, and self-motivated, and have been given permission by supervisor. However, travel to the Bristol office will be required as needed.
