This position will support ET/LCAT's applied research and development programs to safely advance business-critical projects. The selected candidate will assist in the design, implementation, operation, and monitoring of projects utilizing emerged and emerging technologies with the overarching goal of managing environmental liabilities.Assists in the review, investigation, and development of appropriate recommendations for assigned liability management projects. Provides evaluation of project background, historical data and information, and project goals for assessment of viable alternatives.Participates in conceptualization, site visits and investigation, development, evaluation, implementation or modification for small- to medium-scale projects.Supervises field and laboratory activities and works with support personnel, site contacts, and vendors/consultants.Develop working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations appropriate to area of assignment.Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Agricultural, Mining, Metallurgical, Geological, or similar)Knowledge of the principles and practice of the scientific method.Able to research, synthesize, and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and safety culture among FM and contractor employees.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Preferred Qualifications:Ability to calculate mass balancesFamiliar with metal chemistry in aqueous solutionsExperience working in chemical labCriteria/Conditions:Position will require travel (25% +) to various active or legacy mine sites to conduct related activities.This position requires domestic travel including air travel. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
