Collaborate with faculty to support the Social-Emotional needs of students Assess classroom needs for class topics using a data-driven approach; schedule, plan, and teach age-appropriate Social-Emotional lessons, small groups and one-on-ones Coach classroom teachers to integrate SEL lessons into their daily schedule and to support students' needs Collaborate with the Learning Services Team to identify students who need support, conduct Student Success Team meetings and to create Individual Service Plans Communicate with and support families to ensure student success Provide referrals Connect with external providers as needed Coordinate family/caregiver meetings as needed Initiate growth and change in intellectual and professional development, seeking feedback and other learning opportunities. Design learning experiences that engage and support all students in a multi-age setting Engage students in inquiry-based and experiential learning with clear outcomes that allow for student-led curiosity and discovery. Demonstrate cultural competency and culturally responsive teaching Create a positive and joyful learning environment Give feedback and assess students for learning Engage collaboratively and positively with all stakeholders Focus on continual personal growth using the Giddens Teaching Standards framework. Qualifications and skills: Hold a Master's Degree in School Counseling, School Psychology, Licensed Mental Health, Social Work or Community Counseling At least three years experience working with children in a school counseling role All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to the school's mission, values, and philosophy, especially related to diversity, equity, and inclusion A desire to work in a diverse community About Giddens School
