Position Title: Direct Support Professional Contract ServicesCompensation: $17.50/ hourBenefitsCompetitive PayMedical InsurancePaid Time OffRetirement PlanLongevity Bonus (paid on hire date each year)Growth OpportunitiesSchedule:1on1 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM 5 days a weekResponsibilitiesTransport the client to and from the day program.Assist client according to his/her Person-Centered Plan.Assist and monitor clients during meals to ensure utilization of family style dining.Assist and monitor clients in all aspects of housekeeping responsibilities (Clothing care, house cleaning, and yard care).Assist and monitor clients in preparing meals and nutritional supplements.Assist and monitor clients in the administration of prescribed medication without error.Assist and monitor clients in the implementation of prescribed diet orders and utilization of adaptive equipment.Implement and follow all established behavior programs, data collection, and established safety procedures.Assist and monitor clients in appropriate active treatment including training objective plans, recording data, and implementing service goals.Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team and to communicate appropriate client's information as directed by supervisory staff.Assist and monitor clients during community outings.Assist and monitor clients during participation at school and day program activities.Attend staff development classes as scheduled and successfully complete test required competency testing (MANDT, CPR, First Aid, Safe Van Driving, Promotion of Consumer Well Being, Cultural Competency and Medication Administration).Ensures that the work area and company vehicles are clean, safe, secure, and well maintained.Ensures all required documentation is completed as listed in facility communication book and or any software system.Reports any violations of client rights to supervisory staff immediately.Reports any on the job injury to supervisory staff immediately.Arrives to work on time and leaves the work site at the end of the shift or when the next shift arrives.Reports to work on all scheduled days unless absence has been approved by supervisor.Interacts with clients in a positive manner and in accordance with Clients Rights Policies.Interacts with parents, guardians, and other visitors in a positive manner.Works as a team player and interacts in a positive manner with coworkers.Adheres to established LIFE, Inc. dress code as it relates to clothing, shoes, jewelry, and nail length.QualificationsMinimum of High School Diploma or GEDMust have own reliable transportation and insurance with proof.Valid NC Driver's License19 years of age or olderNo experience required.Basic computer skills.Ability to work well with others, be self-motivated.Display strong oral and written communication skills.Possess problem-solving skills.Must be able to work flexible hours and be reached by phone.Physical Strength: Able to lift or move up to 40 lbs. or more.Ability to perform MANDT, CPR, and First Aid techniques.Daily contact with body fluids, cleaning agents, and general household equipment.We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
