Join Peraton's esteemed Cyber Mission business unit in Jessup, MD, as we seek a talented Data Scientist to contribute to our cutting-edge projects within the Intelligence Community. This full-time role demands 1880 hours of dedicated support annually, with work conducted at a prestigious client site.
As a pivotal member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in streamlining data movement across mission platforms, leveraging your expertise to simplify processes, automate tasks, and accelerate operations. Your responsibilities will encompass end-to-end systems engineering, spanning from meticulous data modeling to seamless implementation and support for our mission customers.

Key activities include:
Framing, defining, and bounding Enterprise level data needs and concerns into broad actionable initiatives with clearly identifiable downstream tasking.
Recommending new automation strategies and maturing current automation efforts
Performing high-level data requirements analysis to support the application of data standards across the enterprise.
Operating within, and coordinating across, teams that employ varying development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, and Kanban).
Possessing an instinctive aptitude to leverage information and knowledge sharing networks and navigating conflict in a way that fosters constructive outcomes.
The selected candidate will demonstrate the aptitude to learn and grow in the following areas. Experience in one or more of these areas will greatly increase the probability of success.
Hands on data wrangling: Extract Transform Load (or ETL), Databases, DBA, shell scripting
Hands on experience with Data Serializations (AVRO/protobuf/YAML/XML/JSON)
Problem framing, pattern recognition, AI/ML exposure
SIGINT understanding
Facility with data query DSLs (e.g. SQL)
Qualifications:
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline plus twelve (12) years of experience in Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, and analysis of data syntax and semantics, and Domain Expertise/Analysis (managing data science projects or being a Principal Investigator for a data science project); or Masters degree or PhD plus ten (10) years of experience; or HS Diploma or GED plus sixteen (16) years of experience.
Position requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Target Salary Range:
$190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
