Position Overview:
We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Assistant Dean of the School of Counseling. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing and supporting our academic faculty, fostering a collaborative environment, and promoting excellence in teaching, counselor development, and service. The Assistant Dean will maintain a reduced faculty status while actively participating in serving student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Mission Contribution: Contribute to the university's mission of Christ-centered higher education through leadership on teams and committees, and community development activities.
Teaching: Maintain an annual course load of nine credits.
Faculty Development:
Develop strategies for the professional growth of professors.
Provide guidance and support in curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and research.
Coordinate workshops and training sessions to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Performance Management:
Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback.
Collaborate with faculty to establish goals aligned with institutional priorities.
Recognize and reward outstanding contributions to the academic community.
Academic Program Oversight:
Ensure alignment of faculty efforts with program objectives.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among professors.
Manage faculty workload distribution and resource allocation.
Faculty Recruitment and Retention:
Participate in recruitment and selection of new faculty members.
Develop strategies to enhance faculty retention and job satisfaction.
Policy Implementation:
Interpret and communicate institutional policies to faculty members.
Collaborate with legal counsel and human resources on faculty-related matters.
Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, preferably from a CACREP accredited program.
Demonstrated successful management and supervisory experience.
Familiarity with CACREP standards and faculty evaluation processes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Competency with Microsoft Windows & Office and Zoom.
A mature Christian faith and practice.
Work Environment:
This role may require occasional irregular hours, including nights and weekends. Regular public presentations may be required. Physical capabilities such as walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
What We Offer:

The pay for the Assistant Dean of the School of Counseling will be assigned within a range of $80,000 - $90,000 annually, based on relevant factors.
