Overview:
Senior level operations role that supports and partners with the Area President. The Operations Director has direct responsibility for supporting and directing operations efforts in multiple locations within the sub-region. Includes joint accountability for branch financial results, developing budget and non-sales strategic plan on behalf or in partnership with the Area President. Responsible for developing new workflow strategies to support client value and vet new strategic partners. Provides executive or managerial oversight of other departments or staff functional area(s) such as Sub-regional office support, client management, compliance and TPA.

Responsibilities:
How you'll make an impact

Operational, Technical and Business Responsibilities

Accountable to consult on the direction of the firm, workflow, account assignments and all manner of internal business processes
Responsible for managing workflow and creating increased sales and service capacity within the branch
Broad oversight and responsibility to ensure the branch is operating in accordance with Gallagher Standards of Excellence (GSE) Professional Standards and prepared to pass compliance audits.
Research and implement proven methods to run the operation more efficiently
Coordinate Dominant Priority development and deliverables
Apply technical knowledge to identify new utilities in the market and advocate for their deployment within the organization
Identify opportunities for improvement in technology, process and staff, taking action to enhance results
Develop and implement action plans to adapt to changing legislative, market or corporate conditions

Relationships and Organizational Leadership:
Active member of the Regional Operations committee
Active member of the Branch / Sub-Region leadership and strategic planning team
Promotes the companys visibility, prominence and market position as a premier professional organization
Consult with sub-region offices to promote best practices and operational deficiencies

Budget, Finance, and Legal

Jointly accountable with the Area President for branch financial results. including reconciling reports, assisting with annual budget, and monitoring branch expenses
Responsibilities include oversight of monthly commission tracking and reconciliation of branch revenue
Oversee branch supply expenses
Monitor branch revenue collection and expenses to maximize branch success
Support Area President and Producers in financial aspects of pre-contract deal review for client pricing adequacy
Forecast, manage, and remediate for expenses paid for clients, Co-broker and any other noteworthy expense items
Review client consulting services agreements

HR

Actively recruit, hire, mentor and train new Operations team members and support hiring and onboarding process for all other areas within the Branch
Responsible for eHire requisitions and onboarding of new employees
Support the local summer internship program according to Corporate requirements
Coordinate vacation schedules among respective team members
Responsible for meeting new hires for introduction to Gallagher and Branch culture and expectations

Administrative

Act as liaison between the IT Department and the Branch. Responsible for communicating servicing requests, technology software and hardware requests and issues
Oversight for facility contracts and maintenance issues
Oversight to ensure the coordination of office events, staff events and parties
Responsible for operational due diligence in the sub-region for M&A activity
Accountable to integrate new merger partners into the sub-region pre- and post-close

Training and Development

Develop and implement branch training as needed
Ensure cross-training efforts are established and current
Manage workflow to ensure priority items are resourced and successful.
Oversight for planning and organization of weekly / monthly branch meetings
Verify staff completes all corporate required training
Leads the internal team to focus and allocate resources as priorities require

Qualifications:
About you

Required: Bachelor's degree and 7 years related experience required.

Preferred:
Possess exceptional business acumen (to include understanding general business principles, finance, accounting and marketing strategies)
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Ability to lead / manage staff
Strong time management skills
Superior presentation skills
Flexibility to shift priorities as needed to service the needs of the department
Proficient PC skills
Minimum of 5-7 years experience in employee benefits, insurance, management or related service industry
College degree required and Masters or MBA preferred
Schedule must be flexible to accommodate workload and client support needs
Position requires strong multi-level relationship building skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work towards team and individual goals
