Your Key Responsibilities Rotate in departments related to the trade to complete 8000 on-the-job training hours and successfully complete related classroom instruction specific to the tradeWork closely with a Journeyperson to create/maintain CNC programs using CAM and must be proficient in understanding NC code and writing NC programming manually Work closely with a Journeyperson to develop new processes, and optimizing existing turning, milling, and grinding processes for automotive componentsRequires a highly motivated individual who is willing to learn and apply acquired skills Your Qualifications High school diploma or equivalentMechanical aptitude and knowledgeHands-on learnerBlueprint readingCNC machiningAccuracy in measurement Metal cutting practicesMath Enthusiastic about their career in skilled tradesExcellent communication ability (written & verbal)Positive work ethicProblem solving skills Our Offering The Schaeffler Apprenticeship Program is State certified through Apprentice Ohio and nationally recognized. The Schaeffler Apprenticeship Program is the largest registered manufacturing program in the State of Ohio. The University of Akron delivers the classroom instruction required for the program. Schaeffler covers 100% of the tuition costs and offers an optional college credit track.
