The VP (Head of), Technology (Application Engineering) is a senior technology management role. This position can sit in our Camas, WA, (near Portland, OR) office, our San Mateo, CA, (near San Francisco, CA) office, our Plano, TX, (near Dallas, TX) office, or our new Tampa, FL, office. This will be a direct hire opportunity.

Foundational to the position is serving as the primary creator and provider of methodologies, frameworks and solutions for DevOps, automated CICD and QA, logging and KPI tracking, technology health, API and microservices enablement, and software development tool sets. As such, the role requires excellent communication and partnership skills, the need to co:create vision and strategy that enable the wider enterprise and technology organization, and the ability to instill confidence in others. You will be responsible for the production support, delivery, and strategy required to deliver technical capabilities including in:house and vendor systems regardless of the hosting strategy.

You will be expected to provide leadership for 7:15 staff and contractors in addition to consultants and vendors as needed.

The Day:to:Day:

Own all aspects of shared technology frameworks and tools used by Fisher technology.
Develop technology strategy and roadmaps for capabilities in conjunction with enterprise groups, vendors and other internal technology partners.
Deliver prioritized projects and programs as mutually:agreed upon (time, budget, scope).
Keep abreast of technology trends and industry solutions that impact the partner businesses and Fisher technology at large.
Actively partner with and manage vendors who provide technology services and solutions.
Measure, communicate and deliver on application stability, monitoring and production support.
Develop ecosystem scorecards, SLAs and KPIs in conjunction with the enterprise and other technology partners to evaluate success and determine areas for improvement and areas of opportunity.
Contribute to technology risk evaluation including the management of obsolescence and technology debt.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as external legal requirements.
Develop and manage budgets/resources as requested.
Work with peers and management on the development of mission, standards, services, goals and objectives.
Recruit, coach and build high:performing teams.

Your Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience managing and building effective, high:performing IT teams and leadership.
Proven experience building and supporting CICD automated pipelines with on:prem, cloud and hybrid infrastructures in an agile, DevOps context.
Ability to form and lead centers of excellence that enable and partner with other technology and business teams.
Strong written and oral communications skills with demonstrated evidence of constructive interpersonal interactions with both individual contributors and senior executives inside and outside of technology.
Experience leading technology transformation initiatives.
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
