Primary Function:
Understand requirements from both internal and external customers in order to provide specification, architecture, design, and implementation of machine control and vision systems for new and existing systems to produce a functioning product.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Develop and install new/enhanced machine vision & control systems while working with other engineering disciplines on cross-functional teams for projects of varying complexity and scale.
Specify control components and support creation of BOM.
Assist in writing and reviewing system specification documents.
Troubleshoot and debug system issues to increase performance and quality
Document and create electrical wiring diagrams. Support with Lab during electrical panel builds
Program, commission, and debug control software: PLC?s, microprocessors, motion controls, and HMI?s. Control systems servo drives, motors, steppers, vision, all types of sensors, and a wide range of industrial robots.
Support the creation of operations manuals, perform FAT/SAT and onsite training.

Job Qualifications
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
Bachelors in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience integrating complex mechanical and electrical systems.
Programming ladder logic PLCs, safety PLCs, and HMIs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Yaskawa, Kollmorgen, etc.)
Selecting appropriate circuit protectors, wiring and cabling, sensors, hardware (PLC, HMI, safety, remote I/O, etc.), motors and drives, motion controllers, etc.
Integrating vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, etc.), robots (Fanuc, Adept, etc.), and other devices into a custom-designed manufacturing cell.
Proficiency documenting system schematics in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
Deep understanding of closed loop controls, instrumentation, process controls systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, networking), panel design, safety codes and regulations (UL 508A, NFPA79, OSHA, ANSI, NEC, etc.).
Demonstrated track record of working as part of a cross functional team to deliver results with exceptional quality, in addition to being on time, on budget and meeting the needs of the customer.
Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Pass a post-offer background verification.

Work Environment
Standard environment with normal amounts of production related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.
