Position Overview

Tribe leaders are responsible for setting the strategy direction for a business unit and making sure our resources are deployed to their best effect behind that strategy.

The activation tribe will build tools to help GroupM agencies and clients deploy campaigns as efficiently and effectively as possible. These will include campaign automation platforms, best practice governance tools, global campaign stewardship solutions, critical agency workflow solutions and partner platform integrations for search, social, programmatic and beyond.

As leader of this tribe, you will define our strategic vision in these domains and assign resources to deliver cutting edge products that keep our agency and client customers ahead of their competitors. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will lead and inspire diverse teams of product owners, data scientists, designers and engineers in a global Matrix structure.

Key Responsibilities

You will develop an exceptional understanding of customer needs and market opportunity in your domain.

Set the strategic product agenda for your tribe, making sure the collected priorities of the squads in your group address your strategy, and that resources are distributed appropriately. This will include disbanding and re:forming squads as necessary.

Oversee stakeholder engagement for your domain : making sure that our plans meet the needs of key customers, investors, internal and external partners and our delivery capacity. Critically, you will balance the need to make stakeholders feel heard, while maintaining editorial control of our product strategy and roadmap. This will involve seeking alignment among diverse groups with differing priorities.

Manage the performance of squads in delivering against agreed priorities, and work with chapter leads to ensure the right mix of talent is brought to bear.

Work with the Chief Product Officer, Peer Tribe Leaders and Product Marketing teams to ensure our vision and proposition are collectively compelling, coherent and differentiated.

Forge exceptional working relationships with Chapter leads across Product Management, Architecture, Data Science, UX, Engineering, Data Strategy and Partnerships as well as our Operations group to manage effectively in a global matrixed organization.

Partner closely with our commercial and finance team to develop pricing and investment strategies appropriate to your products, and ultimately manage your tribes P and L.

Represent your product portfolio in major new business engagements : either supporting our agency partners or engaging directly with clients.

Desirable Experience

A proven track record in a similar role managing and structuring complex products, ideally in hi:tech, ad:tech/mar:tech background preferred.

You will have worked in a media or marketing campaign automation or related role : for example helping build Ad serving or DSP solutions, SEM or Social bid management, CSS tools or similar. This will have given you a sound understanding of how platforms interrelate, from topline strategy down to individual ad impression. Ideally this wou
